๐Ÿ›’ ADA Payments Go Live at SPAR Supermarkets in Switzerland

Cardano continues expanding into everyday commerce. Through a partnership between the Cardano Foundation and DFX, $ADA can now be used for purchases at 137 SPAR supermarkets across Switzerland.

The integration allows customers to pay with Cardano directly at grocery store checkouts, turning a blockchain transaction into a simple retail payment experience.

While crypto payments have long been discussed as a future use case, deployments like this bring them into highly visible real-world environments. Each transaction demonstrates how digital assets can function not only as investment vehicles, but also as practical payment tools in everyday life.

๐ŸŒ†๐Ÿ’ต USDCx Goes Live on Liqwid

Cardanoโ€™s largest lending protocol, Liqwid Finance, has integrated USDCx into its on-chain money market.

Users can now supply USDCx liquidity, borrow against their positions, and deploy stablecoin capital directly inside Cardano DeFi. This addition expands the range of lending strategies available on the platform while strengthening the role of stablecoins within the ecosystem.

As dollar-denominated liquidity becomes more accessible on-chain, lending markets gain depth and flexibility. Integrations like this help Cardano DeFi evolve from simple token swaps toward more mature financial primitives.

๐Ÿ›๏ธ Major Institutions Join Midnight as Validators

The release of Cardano Rosetta Java v2.1.0 introduces a major improvement for institutional integrations. The implementation follows the standardized Rosetta API framework originally developed by Coinbase, enabling exchanges, custodians, and wallets to integrate Cardano using familiar infrastructure.

Instead of learning Cardanoโ€™s native APIs, institutions can interact with the network through the same interface used for many other blockchains, querying balances, submitting transactions, accessing historical data, and interacting with on-chain governance.

The latest Rosetta Java 2.1.0 release also includes full support for Conway/Voltaire governance features, such as SPO voting, DRep vote delegation, and CIP-129 integration. In practice, Rosetta acts as a standardized gateway, making it significantly easier for institutional platforms to connect to the Cardano ecosystem.
