⚽ FC Barcelona Launches Barça Fan Lab, Built on Cardano

FC Barcelona launched Barça Fan Lab, a digital fan experience developed with Andamio on Cardano and supported through Project Catalyst Fund 13. The platform connects to BarçaID and offers learning pathways covering the club's history and values, sustainability, inclusion and practical Web3 use cases.

Fans who complete activities earn verifiable digital credentials stored in their own Cardano-based portfolio — credentials they hold, not the club. That distinction is the whole point. Loyalty programmes have always kept the record on the company's server, which means the company can change it, close it, or lose it. Here the proof of what a fan did sits on a public ledger under the fan's own key, and Barça plans to build digital communities, collectibles and participation on top of it.

Andamio's James Dunseith said the team spent two years working behind the scenes to bring one of the world's biggest brands onto Cardano. The club counts its global supporter base in the hundreds of millions, which makes this the largest consumer-facing surface #Cardano has ever been wired into — and it arrived as a live product rather than a partnership announcement.

🏛️ Fireblocks Will Add Full Support for Cardano Native Tokens

Cardano Foundation confirmed that Fireblocks will add full support for Cardano Native Tokens (CNTs). Every exchange, bank and fintech on the platform will be able to custody, send and receive them using the same policy controls, approval workflows and insurance posture they already apply to every other digital asset they hold.

The integration is built around the CIP-26 and CIP-68 token standards and keeps tokens in their native form — no wrapping, no synthetic representations, no bridge sitting in the middle. Support is expected to go live by March 2027. Fireblocks already supported ADA itself; what changes is that the thousands of assets issued on top of Cardano stop being invisible to institutional custody.

Foundation CEO Frederik Gregaard said the move removes a key barrier to institutional demand for tokenized assets on Cardano. He is describing a specific bottleneck: an issuer can mint a regulated instrument on #Cardano in an afternoon, but it goes nowhere until a custodian a bank is allowed to use will hold it. That gate is the one opening here.

👛 Lace 2.3 Ships With Quality-Ranked Staking and DRep Browsers

Lace 2.3 shipped. The change users will feel first is the least glamorous: dApp connections now survive wallet background restarts, closing one of the most common friction points when moving between applications.

The more consequential work is in discovery. The staking browser now shows estimated annual rates and sorts pools by quality signals, and the DRep browser orders delegates by quality rather than raw stake weight. Ranking by stake is how governance quietly centralises: the delegate who already has the most voting power appears first, so they get more, and the list becomes self-reinforcing. Ordering by quality instead is a small default with a large downstream effect on where #Cardano's voting power ends up.

Hardware wallet support improves across Ledger, Trezor, Keystone and SeedSigner, with separate on-device certificates for stake registration and delegation so signers can see what they are actually approving. Midnight accounts get manual sync reset and DUST fee fixes. IO confirmed the release in its weekly development report on September 25.
