Berkshire-backed Nubank Adds ADA, NEAR, ATOM to Crypto Offerings

Latin American banking giant Nubank, backed by Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway, has expanded its crypto services by adding Cardano (ADA), NEAR, Cosmos (ATOM), and Algorand (ALGO) to its trading platform. This move gives Nubank’s 100 million customers in Brazil direct access to ADA and three other leading cryptocurrencies.

With Brazil leading crypto trading volume in Latin America—hitting $6 billion in 2024—this integration is a significant step forward for Cardano’s adoption in the region. Nubank has seen explosive growth, with its revenue skyrocketing from $245 million in early 2021 to nearly $3 billion by the end of 2024.

Berkshire Hathaway has continuously increased its stake in Nubank, investing over $1.5 billion since 2021, signaling institutional confidence in the bank’s digital asset strategy. This expansion places Nubank in direct competition with Binance and Revolut, both of which have also ramped up their crypto services in Brazil.

Interactive Brokers Adds Cardano’s ADA Trading

In a major win for Cardano’s mainstream adoption, Interactive Brokers, a leading U.S. brokerage firm with $16.6 billion in equity capital and 3.1 million daily trades, has integrated ADA into its trading platform. Alongside ADA, the firm also added support for Dogecoin (DOGE), Ripple (XRP), and Solana (SOL).

This move is a significant step in expanding institutional and retail access to Cardano, as Interactive Brokers serves a vast global user base of professional traders and institutional investors. With increasing demand for regulated crypto exposure, this integration makes it easier for traditional market participants to trade ADA.

Lace 2025 Roadmap: Multichain, Mobile, and Bitcoin Support

Lace, Cardano’s premier wallet, has unveiled its 18-month roadmap for 2025, setting the stage for a transformative year. The roadmap focuses on expanding mobile capabilities, integrating Bitcoin, enabling cross-chain functionality, and enhancing Web3 tooling.
